The Super Burger - Santa Rosa

The Super Burger

Located at 1501 4th street, Super Burger has been serving up the best hand pressed burgers in Santa Rosa since after WWII.  Throughout Superburger’s history, the diner has earned Best Burger in Sonoma County more than once as voted by the readers of the Press Democrat.  Most recently in 2012 Superburger regained this high honor.  Post 2007 the flavors of the shakes may be a bit more modern and the burgers a little bit more adventurous than in the 1950s but the shakes still have to be patiently mixed and the burgers pressed one at a time.  Visit Website >>>

Korbel Winery

Korbel Winery

The Korbel story is more than a chapter in Sonoma County history. It is the saga of two enterprising families with pioneer spirits and old-world resourcefulness who envisioned the great opportunities emerging from the development of the 19th-century America.  Although generations apart, the Korbel and Heck families created and preserved a singular tradition of champagne-making excellence that has now been in existence for 137 years.  Visit the Korbel website and witness the Korbel evolution from its roods as a mid-19th-century building materials company to the celebrated vineyards of one of America’s iconic brands.  Visit Website >>>

Russian River Brewing Company

Russian River Brewing Company

Founded by Korbel Champagne Cellars in Guerneville, CA, in 1997. Gary Heck hired Vinnie as the brewery’s brewmaster and initially sole employee. For the next 6 years Vinnie continued to set the bar high for super hoppy and Belgian-inspired beers. Pliny the Elder was one of the first commercially brewed Double or Imperial IPA’s in America and won numerous awards over the years. It is still our most popular beer nearly 20 years later. in 2003, Korbel decided to get out of the beer business and transferred the rights to the Russian River Brewing Company name, all beer names and the recipes to Vinnie and his wife, Natalie. They wrote a business plan, found 2 managing partners, and convinced 30 friends and family to invest in their new brewpub venture. In April 2004, they opened the doors to the next chapter of Russian River Brewing under their ownership.  Visit Website >>>

Armstrong Redwoods Natural Reserve

Armstrong Redwoods Natural Reserve

The serene, majestic beauty of this Grove is a living reminder of the magnificent primeval redwood forest that covered much of this area before logging operations began during the 19th century. Armstrong Redwoods preserves stately and magnificent Sequoia sempervirens, commonly known as the coast redwood. These trees stand together as a testament to the wonders of the natural world. The grove offers solace from the hustle and bustle of daily life, offering the onlooker great inspiration and a place for quiet reflection.

The ancient coast redwood is the tallest living thing on our planet!  These remarkable trees live to be 500-1,000 years old, grow to a diameter of 12-16 feet, and stand from 200-250 feet tall. Some trees survive to over 2,000 years and tower above 350 feet. Coast redwoods are classified as temperate rainforests and they need wet and mild climates to survive. The rainfall in Armstrong Redwoods averages 55 inches per year and the trees are often shrouded in a mystical fog that helps to maintain the moist conditions needed for the redwoods to survive.   Visit Website >>>
